The Story of OakTown
OakTown DownTown is a
fundraiser sponsored by the St. Paul’s Parent Association—which includes all the
parents and families at the School. 100% of the net proceeds go directly to
tuition assistance. It’s also a lot of fun—good food, good company, good cause!
Did you know St Paul’s is
ranked #2 in socioeconomic and ethnic diversity in the entire country among
independent schools of our size? Wow! Our diversity is made possible by our
incredible tuition assistance program.
In 2008, OakTown raised
$80,000 for tuition assistance. Because of today's difficult economic times, it
is imperative that we successfully raise at least the same amount in 2009.
Tuition assistance supports 35 percent of families at the school, and St Paul’s
awarded more than $1.4 million last year. This type of commitment to providing
an excellent education, an awareness of differences, and a respect for a variety
of cultures is what it’s all about here at St. Paul’s!
We will have a cocktail
silent auction, live auction, food and music. Auction donations come from St
Paul’s families, faculty, local businesses, and alumni. There are auction items
for every interest and budget as well as games of chance! The evening will
culminate with a live auction of incredible dinners, events, trips, and sports
